SRINAGAR, May 14: Minister for Revenue, Javed Mustafa Mir has asked the Deputy Commissioners and Collectors of Srinagar, Anantnag, Pulwama, Samba, Ramban, Udhampur and Jammu to expedite land acquisition required for 4-lanning of Srinagar-Jammu National Highway. He also asked them to maintain close coordination with the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and RAMKY so that the bottlenecks hampering the project implementation are removed at the eraliest.
The Minister was reviewing the issues pertaining to land acquisition for 4-lanning of highway at an officers meeting here today.
Financial Commissioner Revenue, Arun Kumar, Secretary Revenue, officers from NHAI and RAMKY were also present in the meeting.
Expressing dismay over the inordinate delay caused in the project completion, the Minister asked the authorities of NHAI and RAMKY to expedite implementation of the project and ensure that it is completed at earliest. He instructed concerned Deputy Commissioners and other officers to acquire the required land and handover it to the executing agency in a time bound manner for carrying out the pending works on the project smoothly.
The Minister instructed concerned Deputy Commissioners and collectors to remove all illegal structures hampering the work on the project. He also instructed them to disburse the compensation among the land and property owners at the earliest, whose land and property have been acquired.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioners and collectors briefed the Minister about the implementation of the project and the hindrances occurring in land and property acquisition. The officers of NHAI and RAMKY also briefed the Minister about the cause of delay in implementing the project and sought his help for early completion of the project.
