JAMMU, Dec 13: As the ongoing protest dharna of ReT Teachers near Press Club Jammu entered into 7th day today, the agitating ReTs held a demonstration by wearing black badges.
They raised slogans against the State Government and vowed to continue the struggle till logical conclusion.
The ongoing protest is being organized under the banner of All J&K ReT Teachers Forum, led by its State president Vinod Sharma, State vice president Younis Rahi and provincial president Rajesh Jamwal.
The State executive body of the Forum has threatened to organize a grand protest rally near Press Club Jammu on December 16, 2015 and warned   that in case of any violent incident, the Government would be solely responsible as the aggrieved ReTs are left with no option other than to take such steps.
While addressing the dharna, Vinod Sharma highlighted the demands like regularization of ReTs/KGBV Teachers who have completed 5 years service, release of 6 to 8 months SSA salary, implementation of Court order regarding Transfer policy, clearance of MDM dues, timebound promotion for regularized ReTs etc.  We are protesting for the last seven days but the State Government and more particularly the Education Department is sleeping over the issue and playing with the sentiments of 65000 ReTs of the State, he alleged.
“Education Department has even denied to include regularized ReTs in B Ed training under IGNOU which shows clear cut discrimination with the cadre and which will never be tolerated any more,” he warned.
Others, who addressed the dharna, included  Sukhdev Singh, Sajad Malik, Manohar Chowdhary, Subash Chander, Joginder Kumar, Navjot Singh, Rakesh Sharma, Durga Dass, Sushma Jugal Dubey, Sandeep Singh, Manzoor Malik, Rishi Singh Rana, Anita Kiran and  Shabir Ahmed.
