Retired SRTC workers stage demonstration

JAMMU, Dec 29: Voluntarily and normally retired employees of State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) held protest demonstration at Exhibition Ground near Press Club here today.
The employees under the banner of All J&K SRTC Volunteer Retirement Employees Association, assembled near Press Club at around 11 am today and held protest demonstration in support of their pending demands. They were demanding that their pending wages be cleared without any delay.
The retired workers under the leadership of Dev Raj Bali staged protest for about an hour and then dispersed. They were shouting slogans against the Transport Minister, Managing Director and General Manager of the Corporation.
They alleged that their pending 126 slabs of COLA were not paid. They also demanded benefits of 6th Pay Commission.
They alleged that 670 VRS/GHS workers are struggling since long but the Government was ignoring their demands. They sought the intervention of Chief Minister in this regard.
