JAMMU, Aug 31: A monthly meeting of All J&K ReT Teachers Forum was held today at Exhibition Ground Jammu under the chairmanship of its State president Vinod Sharma and provincial president Rajesh Singh Jamwal.
The meeting was attended by all the State apex and executive body members besides District presidents.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr Sharma highlighted the genuine and burning issues relating to ReT Teachers. He said that regularized RET Teachers under SSA are without salary for last 6 to 8 months in different districts. They have been facing a lot of problems due to non release of funds under SSA. He said that their deputation had recently met even with HRD Minister and Minister at PMO in this regard but still the problem is unresolved.
He also demanded the release of pay arrears of regularized converted Education Volunteers for last one year. He said that these teachers have been regularized after 10 years of service as General Line Teachers but their salaries are pending for the last one year.
Provincial president Rajesh Jamwal, in his speech, demanded the release of salaries of regularized ReT Teachers (female) under KGBV (Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyala) scheme who are without salary for last more than two years.
The Forum members appealed the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister to intervene in this regard and release the funds under SSA so that thousands of regularized ReT Teachers under SSA may not suffer any more.
Others who also spoke in the meeting, were Younis Rahi, Sukhdev Sumbria, Sukesh Khajuria, Naresh Sharma, Subash Chander, Balwan Singh, Rakesh Khajuria, Sandeep Sharma, Gurucharan Singh, Yogesh Sharma, Navdeep, Rajender Singh, Shiv Kumar and others.
Meanwhile, a meeting of ReT Teachers Forum, district Udhampur, was held at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park in Udhampur where the participants lodged their protest against alleged pick and choose in transfer of regularized ReTs.
