JAMMU, Jan 15: ReT Teachers’ Forum has appealed Governor NN Vohra to intervene personally to stop harassment of ReT Teachers on the name of screening test.
While speaking at the monthly meeting of Forum here today at Exhibition Ground, State president of the Forum, Vinod Sharma said screening test of those ReT Teachers, who possess distance mode degrees even issued by Jammu University, Kashmir University, IGNOU, MANUU etc. vide Government Order No 631 EDU of 2015 Dated 29-12-2015, questions the credibility of these Universities.
He said that even regularization of such distance mode degrees holders is withheld and they are being harassed day after day by such unjustified orders. On the one hand the Education Department is going to depute the in-service teachers for BEd courses through distance mode of IGNOU and on the other hand ReT Teachers possessing such degrees are denied regularization and asked them to sit in a screening test.
The Forum members urged the Governor who is also a chancellor of Jammu University and Kashmir University to personally look into the matter and issue necessary direction to the Education Department so that more than 65000 ReT Teachers of the State get justice.
