ReT Forum calls off protest on Education Minister’s assurance

JAMMU, Dec 14: All J&K ReT Teachers Forum on Monday called off eight-day long protest demonstration on the assurance of Education Minister Naeem Akhter to their deputation.
The deputation of ReT Teachers was led by the president Vinod Sharma, State vice president Bhupinder Singh and   State general Secy. Najam Jafri.
The deputation met with the intervention of Health and Medical Education Minister Chowdhary Lal Singh,  who also accompanied them and asked the Education Minister  to listen to their grievances for the early redressal.
While interacting with the Minister,  Vinod Sharma put forth the burning issues of ReT cadre which include; immediate regularization of ReTs and KGBV Teachers who have completed their 5 years service, streamlining of SSA salary, stop  harassment of ReTs on the name of verification and screening test,  clearance of MDM dues,  implementation of Court order regarding Transfer policy etc.
After listening to the deputation patiently,  the Education Minister assured them that regularization of ReTs will be done with in a short span of time while SSA salary will be cleared at the earliest. He also made it clear that Education Department is not going to take the screening test of all the ReTs but only of those who possess fake degrees from fake universities and genuine degree holders need not to worry.
Meanwhile,  executive body of ReT Forum expressed its  satisfaction  to the statement of Education Minister and hoped that their grievances would be resolved before Assembly session and hence the protest will remain deferred till then.
Others,  who were also part of the deputation, included Sukhdev Singh Sumbria, Gulzabir Daing, Zeeshan Parvez, Sham Sharma, Sayed Misaq, Lekh Raj Parihar, Balwan Singh Subash Chander, Surjeet Singh, Sajad Malik, Rishi Singh Rana, Anita Kiran and  Joginder Kumar.
