Restore statehood, PRCs before Assembly polls: Tony

SUCHETGARH, Nov 10: DDC Member Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony today asked the central dispensation to restore the statehood to J&K and Permanent Resident Certificates (PRCs) before conducting Assembly polls here.
In a handout, he said that there is no logic in conducting elections before restoring statehood to J&K as it will mar the democratic process once again in J&K.
He claimed that Government of India is discriminating J&K as it has restored PRCs in Ladakh and is denying the same here.
Tony demanded that Government should secure jobs for the residents of J&K on the pattern of Ladakh.
“The Government should come out with a comprehensive programme to save the dying transport industry which is on the verge of collapse in J&K,” he maintained.
The DDC Member appealed to the Government for organizing multiple entrepreneurship fairs and awareness camps in rural pockets of the UT to disseminate information about vistas of opportunities available for the youth to set up smaller industrial units and become job providers rather than remaining job seekers.
