JAMMU, Mar 24: Former MLC Vikramaditya Singh today urged UT administration to immediately restore the 4G mobile internet connectivity in J&K to its optimal level so that people under lockdown do not face any kind of difficulty or delay in getting updated information on Coronavirus or statutory changes which recently are being made so often and are of vital importance as far as eliminating the threat of COVID-19 spread is concerned.
In a statement issued here, the former MLC said that restoring 4G internet is the prime necessity now as people need to connect for information on Coronavirus contagion, official circulars and orders, world scenario, children’s studies, medical aid, treatment and precautions besides maintaining contact with families.
In his tweet today, appealing to the Prime Minister and Home Minister, Vikramaditya said, “Restoration of 4G in J&K is critical during this health emergency. It will help people stay informed, aware and connected with Government guidelines, emergency services and family. Will facilitate working from home for students and employees.”
“During the lockdown and curfew, when public in order to facilitate work from home and essential/ emergency services, it is necessary to provide 4G internet mobile services,” he said. Currently Jammu & Kashmir is only receiving 2G services on mobile internet. This appeal and need has been echoed by several people from J&K especially on social media platforms using #Restore4GinJK.
