JAMMU, May 9: The J&K unit spokesperson of BJP, Balbir Ram Rattan, has said that the massive response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to contain the spread of deadly Corona Virus should serve as an eye opener for the Congress in particular, whose leaders had been repeatedly questioning the foreign visits of the PM and terming them as mere picnic trips.
In a statement, BJP spokesperson while advising the Congress to shed hatred for the PM and instead stand with him in this time of national crisis, said that the cordial relations developed by Prime Minister, with the foreign countries, are paying dividend in the form of help to defeat COVID-19 and save the lives of the people in India.
Balbir Ram said that the massive help from more than 40 countries to contain the unprecedented situation emerged in the second wave of COVID-19, is the result of the goodwill earned by Narendra Modi among the nations of the world. Today, many countries are dispatching oxygen plants, oxygen concentrators, ventilators, essential medicines, raw material for local production of vaccine, through their own military and special transport aircrafts, which need to be appreciated.
He said that this government had been working to highlight progress and achievements of India and projecting it as a developing global economy under a strong leader as Prime Minister, who could be trusted and accepted as a man having clean image and commitment for the welfare of the mankind.
BJP leader further said while India is receiving global assistance against COVID-19, the country has already manufactured vaccines at local level with crores of people vaccinated till date. In view of the rise in cases in second wave, Union Government is making all efforts to increase production of oxygen, ventilators and set up more hospitals exclusively to treat Corona infected people, besides making available vaccines free of cost to all the States and UTs to be given to every citizen.
He said that it is the national crisis and it becomes duty of every citizen, including leaders of political parties, to stand with the Modi government and contribute in sailing India out of the crisis, instead of indulging in petty politics.
