Lady among two arrested with narcotics

JAMMU, May 9: Police arrested two drug peddlers including a lady along with narcotics.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Bahu Fort led by SHO Inspector Deepak Pathania and assisted by Incharge Police Post Narwal SI Achal Rana and intercepted a lady, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 4.600 kilograms of ganja from the possession of the lady and arrested her.
The arrested lady was identified as Ruby, wife of Rohin, a resident of Rajeev Nagar Narwal District Jammu.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Mendhar led by SHO Inspector Manzoor Kohli and jawans of 37 RR established a check point at Ari Sonia Simlan under the supervision of SDPO Mendhar ZA Jafri.
During checking, a person was apprehended with 550 grams of cannabis. The arrested person was identified as Iftikhar Ahmed, son of Anait ullah of Ari.
A case under FIR Number 142/2021 under Section 8/20 NDPS has been registered at Police Station Mendhar and investigation initiated.
