DODA, May 9: The residents held strong protest against the Roads and Building (R&B) Department for delaying the construction work of road from Bhotali to Manoo.
A large number of residents of Manoo and its adjoining areas assembled at Malikpura area of Batyas and held protest. They also blocked the vehicular movement on the Gandoh-Doda road.
The residents demanded immediate execution of the work on Bhotali to Manoo road.
They said that despite repeated requests to the R&B Department and local administration, the work on the road is not started till today.
Local residents along with DDC Kahara Mehraj Malik, Sarpanch Mohammad Kalu, social activist Ishtyak Ahmed Malik, Mohammad Hanif Malik said that they will intensify their protest if their demand of construction work of Bhotali to Manoo road is not redressed.
On getting information, Sub Divisional Magistrate Gandoh Arun Badyal along with SHO Gandoh Inspector Vikram Singh rushed to the spot and assured the protesting people of taking up their demand with the concerned department for early redressal.
On the assurance, the protestors dispersed and vehicular movement was restored on the Gandoh-Doda road.
