RAMBAN, Dec 5: Residents of Khari tehsil held protest against long duration power cuts.
A large number of residents of Khari tehsil assembled at bus stand Khari and held protest. They raised slogans against the Power Development Department (PDD) for imposing long duration power cuts.
While speaking, the protestors flayed the PDD for imposing long duration power cuts in the ongoing bone chilling weather.
“It is almost difficult for the people especially the women to carry out daily chores in absence of power supply”, they added.
A protestor said that in the ongoing cold weather conditions, the PDD is imposing long duration power cuts in their area, which is not justified.
The protestors also blocked the vehicular movement on Khari-Nachlana link road.
After getting information, officials from Tehsil administration Khari and Police Department rushed to the spot and pacified the protestors by assuring them that their grievance related to long duration power cuts will be forwarded to the PDD for early redressal.
On the assurance, the protestors dispersed and vehicular movement was restored on the link road.
