JAMMU, Jan 28: More social as well as political organizations celebrated Republic Day by unfurling National Flag and singing National Anthem.
The Day was celebrated at Nowshera and Sunderbani by hoisting National Flag at various locations by different Block Congress Committees. At Nowshera City, the Tri-color was hoisted in the presence of large number of Congress activists. At Sunderbani, the Tri-color was hoisted by Block president Nain Chand Sharma. Block Congress Committee (BCC) Devak led by president Teerth Ram Sharma hoisted National Flag at Makole near Panchyat Ghar and BCC Siot president Ajit Singh at Thanda Pani Chowk.
Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (TNWS) organized flag hoisting ceremony at Trikuta Nagar. Dr Sanjay Sachdev (eye specialist) was the chief guest of the Function while Neeraj Puri, Gandhi Nagar BJP Mandal president was the guest of honour. They along with TNWS president Rajinder Parshad unfurled the Tri-colour. On the occasion, appreciation certificates were awarded to Suneel Mahajan, Krishan Lal Gupta, Dr Sanjay Sachdev, Vijay Gupta, Dr TR Gupta and NK Bali for their social services.
The Day was celebrated by National Mazdoor Conference with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. NMC president Subash Shastri unfurled the National Flag in presence of prominent citizens at Pacca Danga Chowk.
Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Sabha (JKBS) commemorated the Day at a brief function in Shahzadpur Kothi. Chief Guest, JMC Corporator Rashpal Bhardwaj and all Sabha members saluted the National Flag and took pledge to uphold the honour, integrity, diversity and uniqueness of India.
