ANANTNAG, June 5: Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants), Jammu, Dr. Arvind Karwani today visited the Transit Camp Mattan near here, today and held an interactive session with PM Package employees and other inmates.
During his visit, the Commissioner took stock of various issues being faced by the employees and assured them that all genuine concerns would be addressed on priority.
A delegation of employees led by Ranjan Jotshi, president, PM Package Employees Association, apprised the Commissioner of several important issues concerning transit accommodations at Machbhawan, Ranbirpora, and Shangus. The delegation highlighted the need for expediting pending works, improving basic amenities, and ensuring timely completion of the residential quarters and possession of quarters to all employees living in rented accommodations.
The employees also brought to the notice of the Commissioner the sanitation-related concerns and leakage issues affecting the existing transit accommodations. Dr. Karwani patiently listened to all the grievances and assured the employees that necessary steps would be taken to resolve the issues in a time-bound manner.
The delegation further raised the long-pending promotion issue of PM Package MTS employees working in the Relief Organisation. Responding positively, Dr. Karwani assured the employees that the matter would be examined and appropriate action would be taken for its early resolution.
The visit provided an opportunity for the Commissioner to undertake an on-the-spot assessment of the living conditions and challenges faced by the PM Package employees. The employees appreciated his proactive approach and keen interest in understanding their concerns firsthand.
The PM Package Employees Association expressed gratitude to Dr. Arvind Karwani for taking stock of the problems of PM package employees at Mattan.
