UDHAMPUR, June 5: Kud Police today arrested a drug smuggler and recovered heroin from his possession.
According to police, during a routine checking in Kud around 8:30 pm today, an auto rickshaw (registration number JK14J-9689) was stopped and searched. During the search, 3.41 grams of narcotic substance, heroin, was recovered from possession of the auto driver, who was identified as Ramesh Kumar, son of Krishna Lal, resident of Chenani.
Police immediately took the accused into custody and confiscated the recovered narcotics as per legal procedures. In this regard, FIR number 22/2026 has been registered at Police Station Kud. A case has been registered against the accused under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act and further investigation has been initiated.
