JAMMU, Apr 29: President Rastriya Valmiki Sena Jammu & Kashmir, Rinku Gill Valmiki today told reporters that Jammu and Kashmir administration was not able to pay the salaries of the cleaning personnel on time and has failed to provide complete sanitizing items including masks, gloves, soaps and sanitizers to the sanitation workers working in all Corporations.
“J&K Safai Karamcharis work day in and day out and clean the surroundings while fighting the deadly COVID-19 threat. Our demand is that the Union Territory Administration deals with these workers analogous to Delhi Govt, where a sanitation worker will get Rs one crore if he/she dies in the grip of COVID-19 pandemic,” Valmiki maintained.
He said that their National Chairman Raju Chandel is playing the case of sanitation workers very well at all levels.
President Rastriya Valmiki Sena Jammu & Kashmir demanded that J&K Union Territory Administration should fulfil all these demands at an earliest and release the stalled salary of the sanitation workers immediately.
He said despite all odds the staff will work with sincerity and zeal and help the nation to come out of the crisis.
Valmiki was accompanied by other members including Manga Mattu, Jales and Kulvinder.
