JAMMU, Feb 2: Former MLC & spokesperson BJP, Girdhari Lal Raina and co incharge of Kashmir BJP, Hira Lal Bhat have sought the intervention of Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha in releasing the honorarium of migrant Anganwadi workers, PM package and reserved category employees posted in Kashmir on the eve of Maha Shivratri falling on February 18.
In a joint statement issued here, today the BJP leaders said that Migrant Anaganwadi workers have not been paid their honorarium for last three years despite the fact that the Government has assigned duties on Anganwadi centres of Jammu region to them besides, their services are being utilised for immunization and other health and family welfare programmes. They said that the Government should take a decision on these workers who are running from pillar to post for justice.
They appealed the Lt Governor to look into their issue and direct the concerned authorities to settle their case once for all so that these hapless workers are relieved of mental agony. Besides, the steps be taken to release their honorarium before Maha Shivratri which is one of the sacred and main festivals of Kashmir Pandits.
Both Raina and Bhat also while pleading the case of PM package as well as reserved category employees also demanded that their salaries be too released by February 10 in view of the Maha Shivratri festival so that these employees and their families can celebrate the festival without any problem and financial constraints and their genuine demands be settled.
