JAMMU, Feb 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’ Conference (JKPC) expressed serious concern over continued detention of political leaders, businessmen and students demanding immediate release of incarcerated political leaders as a first step towards return to normalcy.
“We are extremely concerned at detention of senior mainstream political leaders, party workers, activists, businessmen and students, which has persisting for more than 200 days. The Government must revisit its decision to impose PSA on former democratically elected leaders, political activists and students,” JKPC spokesman said.
“We urge the Government to immediately release all political leaders, including PC Chairman Sajad Gani Lone, currently under house arrest since being moved from MLA hostel, as a first step towards resuming political activity and returning to full normalcy,” the spokesman added.
