Release full pension to pre 2006 retirees: JKPA

JAMMU, Sept 7: J&K Pensioners’ Association has urged upon the administration to release full pensionary benefits to pre 2006 retirees who have rendered less than 33 years of qualifying service as per SC judgment delivered in April 2016.
It is pointed out by the Association that vide this judgment all such pensioners having less than 33 years of service are entitled for full pensionary benefits. The Association said that Central Government, all states and union territories, except erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir state have implemented this judgment.
“In J&K also, IAS cadre has been given this benefit while other retirees have been ignored,” the Association said and appealed Governor Satya Pal Malik to provide justice to pre 2006 retirees by implementing the SC judgment.
