JAMMU, Nov 15: The charitable trust and religious organizations have been given a chance to get their registration renewed under various sections of the Income Tax Act, 1961 by Nov 25, 2022 by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) vide circular No. 22 dated 01.11.2022.
In order to give wider publicity to the condonation of delay in filing form No. 10-A for registration/renewal upto 25 Nov, 2022, an outreach programme was conducted by Vikas Kumar Sharma, Income Tax Officer, Exemption, Jammu under the guidance of Pooja Jindal, Commissioner of Income Tax (Exemption), Chandigarh and on the directions of Geetinder Mann, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax (Exemption), Range-1, Chandigarh.
In the outreach programme held at Aayakar Bhawan, Jammu Vikas Sharma, Income Tax Officer (Exemption) and Lokesh Garg, Inspector made the Bar Association and the Association of Chartered Accountants aware about the extended date for registration/renewal of trusts.
The Government of India had earlier mandated all the organizations to submit Form 10-A by 31.03.2022. In order to protect the interest and to redress the grievances of stakeholders, the CBDT has further extended the due date upto Nov 25, 2022 to submit Form 10-A electronically.
