Redressal of people’s grievances on top priority: Dy CM

KATHUA, May 10: It is the endeavour of the Government to provide all basic facilities to the people on priority basis, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh said this in a Public Grievances & Redressal Camp at Mahanpur.
Dr. Nirmal Singh said that early redressal of grievances and problems tops the priority list of the present Government which is committed to ensure speedy redressal of grievances at door step of people.
During the public meeting, people projected various demands and problems of their respective areas seeking an early redressal of the same.
The issues which were brought to the notice of the Deputy Chief Minister pertained to improvement in the drinking water, roads connectivity, electricity and other basic facilities besides provision of playground.
Dr. Singh patiently listened to the grievances of people and assured that genuine issues would be considered and redressed in a time bound manner. He directed the officers to look into all the issues raised by the people and initiate necessary steps for early redressal of the same.
Various other issues which were brought to the notice of the Deputy Chief Minister were separation of PDD pannel of Mahanpur, scarcity of drinking water, provision of science subject in the Degree College Mahanpur, fulfil the vacant post of BDO  Mahanpur.
In another Public Grievance and Redressal Camp organised at PWD Rest House, Billawar, Dr Nirmal Singh listened to the people’s problems and issued on spot instructions to the concerned departments for their redressal.
He said that the present dispensation is looking for strengthening of developmental infrastructure in the hilly, kandi and remote areas to ease out the lives of the people. He said Billawar tehsil has great potential for becoming a key tourist destination.
While responding to the demands and problems, the Deputy Chief Minister said new water schemes and road projects will be taken up very shortly. He assured that long pending demand of improvement in Bus Stand area will be taken up very shortly.
Dr Nirmal Singh said that the 100 bed hospital, Pharmacy School, Juthana Bridge, KV School and establishment of Brigade Headquarter in Billawar were among the important projects which will be taken up in coming times to improve the socio-economic condition of Billawar people.
The Deputy Chief Minister also directed SDM Billawar to identify the land for KV School at an earliest.
