RAMNAGAR, Apr 29: An official of Rural Development Department in BDO Block Kulwanta was arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau after he was caught red handed while demanding and accepting bribe.
Anil Kumar son of Girdhari Lal of Chehgla Balota, tehsil Ramnagar, District Udhampur, presently posted as Gram Rozgar Sewak in BDO Block Kulwanta was demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 8000 from the complainant Mir Qasim of Chehgla Balota for release of payment against the execution of works of water tanks in the area under Constituency Development fund of Rs 80,000 of MLA Ramnagar in the year 2017.
Acting on the written complaint, Anti-Corruption Bureau Doda registered a formal case under FIR No.04/2019 under Section 5 (1) (d) r/w 5 (2) and Section 4-A PC Act (Amendment 2014) against the accused official and thereafter a trap was laid by ACB team, led by Dy SP Kamaljit Singh,
During the trap, the accused official he was caught red handed while demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs 8000 from the complainant, in the presence independent witnesses. The accused official was also arrested on the spot for further investigation.
