NEW DELHI/PATNA: The BJP on Saturday announced the name of Union Minister and vocal BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad as its candidate from the much talked about Patna Sahib parliamentary constituency in Bihar.
Announcing this in Patna, senior BJP leader Bhupender Yadav also said that among others Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh has been renominated from East Champaran constituency.
Patna Sahib was represented by noted film star-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha for long.
But Mr Sinha had turned a rebel against BJP leadership especially the duo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah.
The name of Union IT and Law Ravi Shankar Prasad was in the consideration for the crucial party ticket for Patna Sahib.
According to the announcement, BJP leader Giriraj Singh has been shifted to Begusarai and former Union Minister and sitting MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy will be again contesting from Saran.
LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan’s son Chirag Paswan will be contesting again from Jamui.
