JAMMU, Mar 6: Jammu Kashmir Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti (JKRBPS) here today organized ‘Basant Kavya Sandhya’ at K.L Saigal Hall.
The programme started with welcome address by Secretary JKRBPS, Prof. Bharat Bushan Sharma who said that such an important function is organized to welcome spring season with hopes that it will bring peace and prosperity for everyone.
The function was presided over by eminent Hindi writer, Prof. Raj Kumar and chief of guest was eminent Dogri writer, Prof. Lalit Magotra.
In his presidential address, Prof Raj Kumar said that COVID 19 pandemic had given a setback to regular literary activities not only in J&K but all over the world.
He expressed satisfaction that literary activities have resumed with certain precautions as per advisory of Government.
Prof. Lalit Magotra in his address said, literary activities continued through virtual mode even during pandemic to keep in touch with literature and cited examples of virtual Kavi Goshtis and other literary programmes organized by Dogri Sanstha and other literary organizations in lockdowns.
Number of prominent poets from Dogri, Hindi, Punjabi and Gojri languages like Prof. Raj Kumar, Prof. Lalit Magotra, Baljeet Singh Raina, Sham Talib, Des Raj Danish, Swami Antar Neerav, Amarjeet Kour Neer, Sanjeev Bhasin, Sudhir Mahajan, Neelam Verma, Amita Mehta, Balwinder Singh Deep, Javid Rahi, Anila Singh Charak, Harjeet Singh Uppal, Ram Paul Dogra and Sanjay Singh Samyal participated in the programme.
On this occasion an autobiography entitled ‘Mere Hisse Ki Duniya’ of eminent Urdu poet S. Pritpal Singh Betab was also released.
The programme was conducted by Amita Mehta and vote of thanks was presented by Sanjay Singh Samyal.
