‘No one indulging in land grabbing be spared’

JAMMU, May 22: Making it clear in unequivocal terms that all encroachments on Government and Forest land, water bodies and Kascharai land in both regions of J&K should be removed, the BJP today resolved to extend its full support to the administration in its every move in this regard.

The party, which held a meeting of its MLAs from Jammu and Samba districts here under the chairmanship of BJP president and MP, Rajya Sabha, Sat Sharma endorsed its full support to administration in removal of encroachments from Government and Forest land, water bodies and Kascharai land in both regions of the UT and strongly advocated for not sparing anybody how influential he may be.
The party made it clear that it is not against any particular community or religion but those who have grabbed the Government land must be taken to task and their illegal encroachments be removed by retrieving the encroached land.
According to party sources, the MLAs in the meeting showed concern that under a conspiracy attempts are being made to change the demography of Jammu region which, they said, should not be allowed at any cost. They said the party favours a principled stand on this and other issues and even nobody with high political stakes if involved in land grabbing be spared at any cost.
The BJP leadership during the meeting has urged the MLAs to be in touch with the respective tehsildars and revenue officers of their areas and frame a list of encroached land so that the same is submitted to Government for restoration.
The party has also asked the general public to act as watchdog and not allow anybody to grab the Government or forest land adjoining their localities. The party justified the administration’s decision of removing recent encroachments in Maha Maya area in Sidhra and Bari Brahmana in Samba district saying that it is fully behind the administration in this regard.
The meeting was attended by party general secretary (Org) Ashok Koul, Leader of Opposition, Sunil Sharma, Deputy Leader, Surjit Singh Salathia, MLA Jammu North, Sham Lal Sharma, MLA, Ramgarh, Dr D K Manyal, MLA, R S Pura, Dr Narinder Singh, MLA Sucetgarh, Prof Garu Ram Bhagat, MLA Bahu, Ch Vikram Randhwa, MLA Jammu East, Yudhvir Sethi, MLA Jammu West, Arvind Gupta, MLA Nagrota, Devyani Rana, MLA Bishnah Surinder Bhagat, MLA Bishnah, Dr Rajiv Kumar and MLA Akhnoor, Mohan Lal.
Later, the party also held a meeting of the office bearers to chalk out the preparations for upcoming programmes especially in connection with completion of 12 years of Modi Government in office and strengthen preparations at the booth and district levels across Jammu & Kashmir.
J&K BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP, Sat Sharma chaired the meeting which among others was addressed by general secretary (Org), Ashok Koul, former Dy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh, general secretaries, Sanjita Dogra, Mohammad Anwar Khan, and Gopal Mahajan. UT office bearers, spokespersons, Morcha teams, district Prabharis, Presidents, and Seh-Prabharis, and other senior functionaries attended the meeting.
Sat Sharma, while addressing the meeting, emphasized that regular organizational meetings are essential for maintaining coordination, discipline, and effective execution of party programmes at every level. He said that the BJP, as a cadre-based and ideology-driven party, continuously evolves and strengthens itself through consistent interaction, training, and public outreach programmes.
Sharma held an in-depth discussion on the ongoing “Prashikshan Mahabhiyan” and stressed the importance of equipping party workers with ideological clarity, organizational skills, and public engagement capabilities. He also briefed the leaders about the forthcoming programmes, including, International Yoga Day, “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, and the observance of Balidan Diwas of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee on June 23 at the booth level besides “Mann Ki Baat”. He said that Dr. Mookerjee’s sacrifice for the complete integration of Jammu & Kashmir with the nation remains a guiding inspiration for every BJP worker.
Ashok Koul took detailed feedback regarding the functioning of Morchas, organizational meetings, and “Pravas” programmes from the respective presidents and senior leaders. He also reviewed the progress of the district-level “Prashikshan Abhiyan” and sought reports from speakers, district presidents, and district Prabharis regarding its implementation.
Koul discussed the programmes being organized to mark the successful completion of 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led Government at the Centre. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, the Government has worked with commitment for the welfare of the poor, deprived, youth, women, and marginalized sections despite Global challenges and international hostilities. He added that these 12 years symbolize “Jan Vishwas”, reflecting the growing trust of the people in the leadership, policies, and vision of the Modi Government.
Dr. Nirmal Singh described the BJP as an ideology-based organization dedicated to national strengthening and global peace and prosperity. He said that organizational activities keep the party cadre ideologically connected and politically strong, which has enabled the BJP to serve the nation and society consistently over the decades.
Rajiv Charak, vice-president, J&K BJP, presented details regarding the “My Bharat Youth Volunteer Programme”.
