Srinagar, Apr 22: President Awami Ithad Party and MLA Engineer Rashid today denounced the new Recruitment Policy of the Government and termed it as anti-educated youth.
The new Recruitment Policy which has drawn strong criticism from many quarters recently makes it mandatory for all new appointees to Government jobs to serve a preliminary 7 year contractual term before regularisation.
While talking to media persons after a protest rally in Srinagar here today, Rashid said the policy was retrograde and would only destroy the career of educated youth who are already facing plethora of problems in the State.
Rashid said that he was shocked when he learnt about the policy which he said was a U-turn from the PDP’s pre- election promises. “PDP had announced that 2015 will be observed as Year of the Youth, but on the ground they are disempowering the educated youth by announcing such retrograde policies”, he said.
The MLA said the policy was harsh on talented and highly educated youth as it treated the high profile gazzeted posts at tandem with the 4th class jobs as all have to serve the contractual term of 7 years under the new policy.  He expressed apprehension that the policy would force the youth in Kashmir to either take to gun or leave to other states in search of jobs.
Rashid said that ever since the PDP-BJP coalition came to power in the State, it has landed into controversies.
The MLA urged the Hurriyat leaders and CPI leader Tarigami  to raise voice against the anti people policies of the coalition Government. At the end he demanded that recruitment agencies should go for fast track recruitments immediately.
The activists of the Awami Ithad Party were chanting slogans against new recruitment policy of the Government.
