KATHUA, July 16: People of Billawar led by ABVP, Bajrang Dal and social activists blocked the busy Billawar road for one hours demanding stern action against the rapists who outraged the modesty of a minor near here.
Sources informed that on July 9 the 14 years old girl was gang raped at her residence in village Sadrotaa falling under the jurisdiction of Malhar Police Station by two person Mohd Iqbal and Babu Din of the same village when she was alone in her house at evening hours.
Next morning the victim narrated the whole episode to Panchayat members as her parents were out of village.
The Panchayat member telephonically informed her parents about the incident and they reached next day.
Meanwhile, the accused threatened the family of victim of dire consequence if they informed police.
After three days father of the victim reached Billawar police station hiding himself from the accused and narrated the whole episode there.
When contacted, SDPO Billawer, Ravinder Singh said that statement of the victim, her parents and others has been recorded and medical examination of victim was also conducted.
He said that police has arrested the criminals and a case in FIR number 7/2019 under section 376/34/POSCO Act has been registered against them and investigations has started.
The protesters lifted Dharna after the police assured stern action against rapists.
