JAMMU, Nov 21: Former Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today kick-started tile work at Government Middle School (GMS), Narwal Bala in Gandhi Nagar Assembly segment in the presence of Panch, Sabia Choudhary and Panch, Sham Lal Sharma.
While speaking on the occasion Randhawa said that schools are ‘temples of education’ where education is imparted to the students without any discrimination. He said that the Government run schools especially need due focus in terms of infrastructure as the children from very poor families are left with no other option. He said that in the modern race the education has become most important and costly as well and in such circumstances Government run schools are playing a pivotal role in imparting education among the downtrodden section of the society.
He said that some tile work was required to be done in the school which was appropriately taken up with the authorities and an amount of Rs 4.5 lakh stands sanctioned for the same under 14 Finance Commission (FC). Randhawa expressed his satisfaction that the work has been finally started.
He further said that the BJP leadership and the Central Government is keen to promote and upgrade Government run schools which will provide succor to the poor families and a world class infrastructure in Government schools will boost the confidence of the students studying in these institutions.
He also urged upon the staff to deliver their best to ensure that all those studying in the school become reputed citizens. The school staff expressed their gratitude to Ch Vikram Randhawa in taking up the demand and getting it resolved.
