Jammu to Kanyakumari Cyclothon to be flagged off from JU tomorrow

JAMMU, Nov 21: PN Doshi Women’s College at Ghatkopar Mumbai is all set in taking up one of the greater Challenges by conducting a Cyclothon from Jammu to Kanyakumari to be flagged off by Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu from JU tomorrow.
21 female cyclists of the College on bicycle will cover a distance of around 3700 kilometers in 34 days and will rech Kanyakumari on December 25, 2019.
Bharat Petroleum being the co-sponsor of this event, today invited all the participating members to its office at Bahu Plaza and held a media interaction in the presence of Director Information Dr Sehrish Asgar, who lauded the efforts of the College in taking this social cause and encouraged the young girls in touching heights.
Speaking on the occasion, Bharat Petroleum’s Territory Manager (Retail) for J&K and Ladakh Rajesh Sharma informed that Company is always aggressive in taking such kind of initiatives which give a loud message to the society in creating better tomorrow.
He said that BPCL has made elaborate arrangements to take care of this Cycloton on the entire route through its chain of COCO Retail Outlets on North South Corridor of NH44, the first stop of which will be its newly commissioned BP Ghagwal at 50 kilometers from Jammu.
He added that some cyclists from Jammu will also accompany the Cyclothon up to Ghagwal.
Prominent among others who were present on the occasion included Dr Asha Menon, Principal, Dr S Kumudhavalli, Director, Abhay Khetani, Trustee, Piyush Avalani, Trustee, CA Gunvant Rachchh (Professor) and Sanjay Patil (Professor).
