MENDHAR, Dec 23: Central secretary J&K National Conference and former Deputy Chairman J&K Legislative Council, Javed Rana has called the detention of all political leaders in Kashmir as unethical and undemocratic.
Addressing a meeting of Party workers in Mendhar today, Rana demanded release of all political detainees immediately without any further delay. He said that the detention of these leaders is against the democratic ethos of the country.
“Its disturbing to see the way our leader Dr Farooq Abdullah has been treated by the Govt of India. Dr Abdullah is more of a nationalist than most of so called leaders including our Prime Minister. Its heartening to see his custody has been extended for three ethos.
While commenting on the Citizenship Amendment Act and NRC, Rana said that the country has proved that it will not allow anybody to destroy the constitution of India. CAA is against the constitution of India as it violates Article 14, 15 and 21 of the constitution. This act will damage the unity and plural nature of India as it create mistrust and damage the social fabric of India.
Later, the delegation passed a resolution demanding immediate release of all political leaders and immediate repealing of Citizenship (Amendment) Act.
