Rana pitches for “Integral Humanism”

JAMMU, Feb 15: Observing that all religions stand for love, compassion and inclusiveness, Senior BJP leader Devender Singh Rana today called for imbibing the spirit of humanism, saying this will guide society to overcome hate, animosity and bitterness that is pivotal for making this world a better place to live in. He emphasised on the philosophy of ‘Integral Humanism”.
Speaking at a daylong conference on ‘Payam-e-Insaniyat Aur Islam’, organized by Anjuman-e-Islamia, Jammu, the Sr BJP leader said that strengthening amity and brotherhood, which is core of every religion, and inculcating the spirit of sacrifice for wellbeing of fellow human beings holds promise for better tomorrow and harmonious growth of the humanity.
Rana said the spiritual land of India has emanated the message of humanity from times immemorial and guided humanity to peace, prosperity and spiritual bliss. This glorious heritage and legacy has to be sustained and strengthened by spreading the divine message of love, compassion and righteousness. He hoped the people would preach and practice the divine philosophy by dealing with fellow human beings with love and dignity.
Dwelling upon the time tested traditions and great secular ethos of Jammu and Kashmir; Mr Rana said the people have lived to these traditions by maintaining amity and brotherhood despite for centuries. This spirit, he said, is not only to be preserved but also passed on to the posterity to sustain the harmonious growth of the society as a whole.
The Senior BJP leader lauded the efforts of the Anjuman-e-Islamia in strengthening the spirit of brotherhood between various segments of the society, saying unity in diversity has been the greatest strength of this beautiful country. He said, “Notwithstanding the malicious campaign by the pseudo secularists, the BJP has been striving for providing adequate space to the people of this great country, irrespective of caste and region, to grow and flourish as proud Indians.
Responding to the overwhelming demand projected during the conference for establishment of a separate Shia Waqf Board, Rana termed it as a logical plea, since it exists in the rest of the country.
In his welcome address, the President of Anjuman-e-Islamia Syed Amanat Ali Shah said the organization has been tirelessly organizing various events aimed at strengthening the bonds between various communities and bringing about harmony in the society.
Prominent among those who spoke on the topic during the conference included Maulana Mohammed Askri, Maulana Ghulam Hussain Hilori, Hussain Ahmad Sidiqui, Advocate High Court and Maulana Habib-ur-Rehman,
The Vice President Anjuman-e-Islamia Syed Afaq Hussain Kazmi deliberated upon the concept of equality in Islam and role of Islam in making a healthy society.
