Rana lauds girl-students’ quest for higher, professional learning

NAGROTA, Oct 18: Provincial President National Conference and MLA Devender Singh Rana today  lauded the quest for higher and professional learning among girls, especially those coming from rural backgrounds, saying their commitment to academics has made all the difference over the years.
“The initiative and drive among girls for excelling in academics has made a real difference in recent years and changed the perception of society as a whole”, he said while interacting with a group of students from his Nagrota constituency, citing that whenever results are announced, girls outshining boys remains high anticipation. “Generally such expectations prove right”, he added.
The Provincial President, however, cautioned against complacency, saying much is needed to be done for improving female literacy in the State. He said though girls are making their marks in higher and professional education, yet there is need to create vistas of opportunities for them to get ornamented with quality education. In this context, he drew the attention of parents towards the need for female education, saying they have to play a crucial role in this regard.
Mr Rana exhorted girls to aim high, as sky was the limit for talented students, saying that in this era of competition they cannot afford to be medicore. He acknowledged with satisfaction about girls passing out in        huge numbers each year and making their mark in competitive examinations like KAS, IAS and other professional avocations.
The Provincial President exuded confidence that the girls from Nagrota will shine in chosen fields of their careers and said he will strive for getting best available opportunities for them.
Mr Rana provided a TABLET to a promising young girl student as part of his initiative to make them computer savvy and hoped that they will make proper use of new technology for career advancement. He said the girls have to get acquainted with modern and advanced technology in a big way so that they face the competitive world with much more confidence and vigour.
