Ramzan reviews situation in snow hit districts

JAMMU, Feb 7: Minister for Transport and Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution has asked the administrations of North Kashmir districts to make concerted efforts to restore the roads and basic services in the district disrupted in the backdrop of heavy snowfall.
The Minister issued the directions while talking to Deputy Commissioners (DCs) on phone to whom he called to know about the situation arisen after the heavy snow fall witnessed in the area since last evening.
The Minister asked the DCs to gear up men and machinery to restore all intra and inter district roads to avoid inconvenience to the people in moving from one place to the other. He asked the administration to put to work all the men machinery available to ensure clearance of the snow from all the vital roads.
Ch Ramzan also asked for taking immediate steps to restore power and water supply in the areas where these are disrupted.
Minister was informed that there were sufficient stocks of Rice, Atta, Sugar and K- Oil in all depots, while the Oil companies have also dumped sufficient number of LPG cylinders to meet any emergency.
