JAMMU/REASI, Feb 7: Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) conducted an awareness programme on “Road Safety” at Government Polytechnic for Women here today.
On the occasion, Arvind Kotwal, Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Jammu was the chief guest.
Neetu Maini, Principal Government Polytechnic for Women, presented the welcome address.
Interactive and video sessions were conducted by the experts in order to deliver the message of programme.
Arvind Kotwal in his address exhorted upon the participants to follow the traffic rules and road safety measures to avoid the fatal accidents.
Pawan Kumar, HoD E&C and Local Coordinator for the programme arranged logistic support during the programme.
Among others present were Kuldeep Singh, Jugal Kishore ARTOs Jammu, Naresh Gupta incharge Computer Engineering, Harish Chander incharge Textile, Kamal Kumar incharge TPO, Reeta Kundal incharge OMCA, Rajiv Kohli incharge HoD, faculty and students of the institution.
The programme was compeered by Shafi of MVD, while Sunil Cannie Inspector MVD conducted the programme.
Meanwhile, Motor Vehicles Department in collaboration with District Information Center Reasi today organized Road Safety Awareness programme at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Reasi, in which children participated.
The children were shown a film show on road safety. Emphasis was laid on the process of boarding and de-boarding from school buses. They were also made aware about several rules and precautions that are required to be followed while using the roads. Booklets on road safety and learner’s licence forms for children over 16 years of age and pamphlets and handbills carrying road safety messages were also distributed among students.
Those present on the occasion were ARTO Reasi, Rajesh Gupta, officials from Information Department, Principal, teachers and staff.
The programme concluded with cultural performance by Mohinder Kumar and Rakesh Kumar (artists from Information Department Reasi).
