Raman sworn in as Chhattisgarh CM for 3rd time

RAIPUR: Dr Raman Singh was today sworn in as Chhattisgarh Chief Minister for the third consecutive term.
Governor Shekhar Dutt administered the oath of office and secrecy to 61-year-old Dr Singh at a grand public function at the Police Parade Ground here in the presence of a galaxy of leaders, including BJP patriarch LK Advani, the party’s prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Rajnath Singh and his predecessors Venkaiah Naidu and Nitin Gadkari.
Besides, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal, Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, Rajasthan’s Chief Minister-designate Vasundhara Raje, Delhi BJP candidate Harsh Vardhan and Shiv Sena supremo Udhav Thakre attended the swearing-in ceremony.
As decided by the party, Dr Singh was the only person who took oath today, and his Council of Ministers would be sworn in on a later date after finalisation of their names in consultation with the party high command. (AGENCIES)
