SRINAGAR, May 23: Appreciating the role of JKP in public service, Director General of Police (DGP), K Rajendra Kumar today said that the force, despite facing tough challenges, has succeeded in prevailing a sense of security among the people of the State.
Mr. Rajendra was addressing jawans and officers at a police durbar held at District Police Lines Ganderbal (DPL) today. He said that the brave jawans and officers of the force have done exemplary role in professional policing, besides protecting the people and their properties. He said that the force has served the people on the cost of their lives and proved bravery at different occasions.
Mr. Rajendra said that public service is the prime duty of JKP, reiterating that safety of human lives and public property would remain among top priorities of the force. He said that with the active cooperation of the people, the force has succeeded in bringing peace in the State and it would be our endeavour to keep the peace maintained at all levels.
The DGP lauded the personnel for their role on anti-militancy front, saying that their gallant role in saving the human lives and public properties has been recognized at different levels. He stressed upon the jawans and officers to serve the people with more dedication.
Later, the DGP reviewed the arrangements for Mela Kheer Bhawani scheduled on May 26 at a meeting held at DPL, which was attended by senior officers from Police, CRPF and civil district administration.
DGP asked for adoption of latest techniques to improve security grid for maintaining the security of devotees. He stressed for efficient utilizing of manpower and latest gadgets for providing better security environment to the devotees. He stressed upon the officers for better coordination with the civil administration and Mela Management for smooth conduct of Mela celebrations. He asked for sterns efforts to ensure smooth traffic movement on the routes leading to the shrine during the celebrations to avoid traffic jams, which creates inconvenience for the devotees and common commuters and also ensure proper parking of vehicles at the already identified places.
Among others, the meeting was attended by IGPs, SJM Geelani, AG Mir, Jagjit Kumar and JP Singh, DIG (CKR) GH Bhat, DIG CRPF, (North Srinagar), SP Ganderbal, Imtiyaz Ismail Parray, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Showkat Aijaz Bhat and other police officers.
