KATHUA; Feb 15: Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP, R C Kotwal today rescued five bovines and seized one vehicle in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Rajbagh.
Police said an information was received from reliable source that one suspected Mahindra Load Carrier bearing Registration Number PB 11CP-1479 is on way from Punjab towards Kashmir Valley with bovines animals being smuggled from Punjab.
Acting on the same a police team led by Inspector, Amit Sangra, SHO PS Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO Border, Sachit Mahajan during routine naka/checking duty at NHW Rajbagh noticed the vehicle bearing Registration Number PB11CP-1479 on way from Punjab towards Kashmir Valley. As the vehicle was signaled to stop for checking. The driver fled away from the spot abandoning the vehicle.
During checking of the vehicle five bovine animals (02 Cows & 03 Oxen) were found loaded in it. All the five bovines were rescued and the vehicle was seized. A case has been registered at PS Rajbagh under FIR No. 22/2022 U/S 188/IPC, 11/PCA Act and further investigation is going on.
