JAMMU, Mar 6: The core committee of Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS) J&K today declared Rajan Singh Happy as new president of the Sabha.
The announcement in this connection was made by chief patron of the Sabha, Rajinder Singh in a press conference held here today. He also announced Mandeep Singh and Mukesh Singh as senior vice-presidents of the Sabha.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajinder Singh said that the YRS will continue to do efforts and endeavours against the injustice and step motherly treatment of the Government towards Rajput community, particularly rural and agricultural class.
“Following the footprints of the fourth and the last Dogra monarch of J&K Maharaja Hari Singh, YRS is dedicated to the upliftment of the Biradari and the people of J&K in general,” he said, adding, the YRS has always extended helping hand to the downtrodden people, especially for the education and marriage of the poor girls.
Reiterating the demand of the Rajput community regarding announcement of holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh, the chief patron said that the party presently in Government had to face the wrath of Rajput community in future for ignoring their genuine and just demand.
Later, he announced that the official coronation ceremony of the newly elected president will be conducted in Kashmir Hills Resort on March 14.
Prominent members present on the occasion were Raghubir Singh, Rajveer Singh, Surinder Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Tinu Langeh, Sandeep Singh Sandy, Parveen Singh, Vikram Singh and Mohinder Singh.
