Srinagar, June 28: Kashmir was today lashed with moderate rains in the afternoon even as Meteorological Department has predicted wet spell this week in the Valley.
A MeT official said that moderate rains lashed Valley from afternoon till evening which resulted in temperature decline. He said that there was already forecast of rain and said that further rains are predicted this week.
The official said that the day temperature in Srinagar witnessed decline by several notches due to downpour. Srinagar recorded 25.2 degree Celsius maximum temperature against yesterday’s 28.9 while the minimum temperature settled at 17.3 degree Celsius.
According to MeT official, Qazigund, the gateway of Kashmir Valley, recorded 23.5 degree Celsius maximum temperature while minimum temperature settled at 16.2 degree Celsius. Pahalgam recorded 21.5 degree Celsius day temperature and night temperature settled at 12.2 degree Celsius.
Kokernag in south Kashmir recorded 23.8 degree Celsius maximum temperature and 15.0 degree Celsius minimum temperature. The day temperature in Kupwara settled at 27.4 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature remained 17.1 degree Celsius.
