Raina for LG’s intervention in releasing salaries of package, reserved category employees

JAMMU, Nov 23: JK BJP president, Ravinder Raina today reiterated his appeal to Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha to release the salaries of PM package, reserved category and non PM package employees serving in Kashmir Valley.
Raina, who was addressing a joint meeting of these employees at party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar here today said the Government should immediately release the salaries of these employees as they are facing many hardships. Some of them have to look after their old and ailing parents and after Government withheld their salaries these employees are hard pressed.
He said BJP is fully and solidly behind the demands of these employees who are the patriotic people and were serving in Kashmir for last 15 years. They never showed any hesitation in serving there. However they became the victims of the conspiracy hatched by the enemy who resorted to selective and targeted killings which forced them to come to Jammu for their safety and security, he added.
He said this phase will not last long and the enemy will be dealt a serious blow and unmasked but for the time being the Government should look into the problems of these employees and take immediate steps in releasing their salaries.
Raina said targeted attacks on minorities started since the killing of Bindroo which was followed by killing of Principal, Satinder Kour and Deepak Chand teacher in Srinagar. Later Rahul Bhat and Rajni Balla and other members of minority community were gunned down in Choudharygund and Chotigam area of Shopian district of South Kashmir and some migrant laborers in Pulwama creating fear psychosis among the minorities serving in the Valley.
Exuding confidence that these employees will join their services soon after the situation becomes conducive in Valley, he demanded that such a policy be formulated so that their services can continue and their salaries be released immediately.
The meeting among others was addressed by BJP general secretary, Dr D K Manyal, Mayor JMC, Rajinder Sharma, former MLC and BJP spokesperson, Ajay Bharti and Hira Lal Bhat a senior functionary of the party.
The representatives of PM package, reserved category employees and non PM package employees also informed the BJP leaders about their problems and the trauma they have undergone during last over six months. They also sought immediate intervention of the party in getting what they called their genuine issue redressed on humanitarian grounds.
The employees representatives made it clear that they never showed any unwillingness to serve in the Valley during over last one decade but after the situation became hostile for them they were left with no option but to migrate to Jammu for their safety and security.
