JAMMU, Nov 1: Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu today ordered appointment of DC Raina, Senior Adv-ocate as Advocate General for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
An order to this effect was issued today by the Department of Law, Justice and Parliament Affairs of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
Raina will be holding the post of Advocate General for fourth time as he was also appointed as State’s top Law Officer during Governor’s rule in the State in 2008, 2016 and 2018.
During his previous tenures as Advocate General, Raina had represented the State in different cases including Article 370, NEET and NIT students’ row in the High Court and Supreme Court.
This was the first important appointment ordered by the Lieutenant Governor after taking over charge of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir yesterday.
