Rahul urges party workers to meet, assist families of those killed, injured in anti-CAA protests

NEW DELHI, Dec 30:
Amid protests continuing against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC) across the nation, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday urged party workers to meet the families of those killed and injured during anti CAA protests and provide them with all assistance.
“Across India, many young men and women have been wounded and even killed while protesting against CAA. I urge our Congress party workers to meet the victim’s families and provide them all possible assistance”, Mr Gandhi tweeted.
The former Congress president, while sharing a video clip of his visit in Assam few days ago, and meeting the families of those who killed during Anti-CAA protests, also said, “On Saturday I met the families of two young martyrs in Assam”, he added.
Mr Gandhi had visited the families of 17-year old Sam Stafford and Dipanjal Das, who died in alleged police firing in Assam on Saturday.
Mr Gandhi’s sister and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had visited families of several people in Uttar Pradesh, who were killed as well as injured during the protests. (UNI)
