PULWAMA, Oct 19: Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Dr Raghav Langer along with a team of officers today visited various areas of the district and took stock of availability of land for various developmental projects including new colleges, upcoming health facilities and solid waste management projects.
DDC visited Nawnagri ,Malangpora and Lelhar, Kakapora where it was known that huge chunk of land is available there and can be used for various developmental projects.
On the occasion, DDC called for optimum use of available land and also impressed upon officials of the Urban Local Bodies to adopt scientific methods of solid waste management.
He also took strong note of encroachments and excavation of minor minerals from river Jehlum and other streams and directed the concerned officers to take strict action against the offenders.
The DDC while taking stock of attendance in Govt offices found two schools non functional at Nawnagri and directed the Chief Education Officer to withhold the salary of the staff.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Tehsildars and other concerned officers and officials accompanied him during the visit.
