Qila Darhal people protest, block road

NOWSHERA, June 11:  The people  from Qila Darhal tehsil held strong protest against Education Department  and blocked road for  about two hours.
The agitating people also burnt the effigy of  MLA Nowshera, Ravinder Raina, alleging that he has failed to ensure upgradation of   Govt High School Qila Darhal to Higher Secondary level. The protesting people also raised slogans against Education Minister Ch Zulfkar Ali, Director School Education Jammu  and District Administration.
They pointed out that Qila Darhal is now Tehsil  and there is old Govt High School. The people are demanding its upgradation for the last several years, but the State Education authorities have failed to provide justice to the area. A large number of students from Darhal, Rajpur and Lam area  go to Nowshera after covering large distance for studying. Many girl students of the area are forced to leave their education half way as parents do not allow to travel long distance on daily basis.
Capt ( Retd) Ravinder Singh, along with Jeet Singh social worker, Harbaksh Singh, Inder Singh, Ajit Singh, Hardeep Singh, Vikram Singh, Ex- Sarpanch Paramjeet Singh, Ex- Sarpanch Rajinder Singh, Gurcharan Singh, Yog Raj, Nanak Chand, Mohammed Hassain, Rashid Hussain, Mohammed Kasim, Najir Hussian and others joined the protest and demanded that local school be upgraded otherwise public will be forced to launch massive agitation.
Cap Ravinder Singh said that in Qila Darhal Government Primary School was established in 1952 and in 1979 upgraded  into High School. He said for the last 39 years, children from this area are suffering. They go to Nowshera covering  22 kilometers distance.  This local school is  giving 70% to 80% result every year but MLA Education authorities are in slumber.
Meanwhile, Tehsildar Qila Darhal Suresh Kumar Choudhary rushed to the spot and discussed  the issue with protesters. They warned to launch protest dharna at DC office Rajouri if Govt failed to take initiative in this regard.
