JAMMU, Oct 6: As a part of the coming “Yuva Akrosh Yatra” against the recently introduced recruitment policy of the BJP-PDP Government and unsettled issues of thousands of daily wagers, NYCs and other educated unemployed youth, PYC organized an extensive signature campaign across the State, in eighty-seven Assembly constituencies today.
A large number of youth and students turned up at for the signature campaign counters established by the LYC and AYC Committees at all the Assembly constituencies. The signature campaign in support of coming “Yuva Akrosh Yatra” was coordinated by the State PYC Committee, LYC Committees and AYC Committees.
Pranav Shagotra, State PYC chief visited a number of Assembly segments and interacted with the youth and students. He visited the signature campaigns in Gandhi Nagar Assembly segment, at the main gate of the University of Jammu and many other places. Heavy rush of the students and youth was seen signing the petition against the anti youth policies of present Government at Jammu University, outside the main gate of GCW Parade College, Rehari Chowk, Durga Nagar and at other areas.
Speaking to the media persons, Mr Shagotra revealed that this signature campaign is a part of the mass contact programme of the PYC against the growing unemployment, wrong recruitment policies of the Government and apathy towards thousands of daily wagers of the State. He added that the BJP-PDP Government has forgotten all the pre poll promises made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that more than seven lakh educated youth are waiting for the Jobs and this Government has failed to initiate any concrete step in this direction.
He further said that, the signatures collected during the today’s campaign shall be submitted to the District Development Commissioners along with a memorandum, urging the Government to scrap the recently introduced recruitment policy and to address the issues of daily wagers and NYCs.
After that, PYC is going to launch “Yuva Akrosh Yatra” from Lakhanpur to Leh on October 12, 2015, which will culminate at Leh on November 03, 2015, after covering the 22 districts of the State.
