JAMMU, Feb 2: Pradesh Youth Congress has condemned the incident of alleged attack and firing on the workers engaged at a tunnel near Nashri (Batote) by some hired goons of a private company on Friday.
While condemning the incident, the PYC president Shah Nawaz Choudhary, vice president Parnav Shagotra and Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha president (PYC) Pankaj Basotra alleged that there was nexus between some officials of the Company working on the tunnel and some anti-social elements from outside. With this support of these goons the local workers are being harassed and victimized by the Company officials. The local workers are not allowed to raise their genuine cause and demands and these hired people treat them as bonded labourers.
According full support to the local work force of Leighton Company, the PYC leaders urged the Labour Commissioner J&K and minister in-charge Labour & Employment Ajay Sadhotra to immediately intervene into the matter and protect the rights of the Labour force.
