SRINAGAR, Nov 18: While not caring enough to Government orders directing not to charge transport fees from the parents for the period of lockdown since August, some schools are not ready to show any compliance to the order.
Scores of parents today assembled inside the campus of one of the schools at Gogjibagh area of Srinagar and raised slogans against the school administration. They alleged that the district administration is not making efforts to see if the orders were being implemented.
“How can we pay the transport fee for the period, everyone was inside their homes, nobody could earn a penny, how can they demand the fees from us, this is sheer injustice,” they said.

There have been clear-cut directions from the administration that the transport fees should not be charged from the parents and those found violating the directions will be dealt strictly. Earlier, scores of parents had held protest demonstration, asking the district administration to interfere and resolve their issues; however, the administration does not seem to care enough on this issue, leaving the parents suffering.
On Monday, the school had asked all the parents to report to the school and collect the results of their wards, however, as per the parents; the administration withheld the results, seeking the deposition of the transport fees.
“Not a single school is charging the bus fees from the parents, but they are not budging an inch in this regard; there are clear-cut directives from the administration that the transport fees should not be charged, but they don’t care,” said Zahoor Ahmad, a parent, adding that the administration has order three consecutive orders in this regard. “The latest one was issued on November 16, but who cares,” he lamented.
The parents requested that the district administration should intervene into the matter and should also take stern action against the violators.
