JAMMU, Nov 18: Principal Secretary Industries & Commerce, Geology & Mining Departments, Navin Kumar Choudhary today reviewed the functioning of Geology & Mining Department and took stock of the progress on infrastructure development projects of Industries and Commerce Department approved under the languishing project scheme, here at separate meetings.
The heads of the departments gave a detailed account of the under execution projects. The meeting also discussed the challenges faced by the departments in implementation of certain projects. The position of funds under Capex and expenditure incurred so far was also discussed threadbare.
The Principal Secretary inquired about measures taken to check illegal mining, monopoly in mining, allotment of mines along with their rates, shortage of construction material and steps taken to streamline the system.
He instructed the officials to prepare a bar chart of performance to be made in the coming months. He directed them to meet the timeline set for each project. He also impressed upon them to resolve the technical hitchs including land issues in consultation with the local administration.
Choudhary directed the officials to ensure proper upkeep of departmental assets and industrial estates. He also asked them to monitor the progress of languishing projects on a regular basis for their timely completion.
The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary I&C Ramesh Kuamar, Managing Director SICOP Atul Sharma, Director I&C Jammu Anoo Malhotra, Director Geology & Mining F.A Khan, Managing Director JK Industries Javaid Iqbal and other senior officers of the concerned departments.
