JAMMU, Sept 16: To discuss the repercussion due to the JKBOSE charging extra fee in addition to its actual fee from the students who are going to appear in 11th and 12th class in Winter Zone, a meeting of the Private Schools Association was held, here today.
The meet explained that JKBOSE charges the fee for various services, such as Examination fee, Migration fee, Eligibility fee, RR Renewal fee, Inspection fee, Re-evaluation fee, Duplicate Roll number fee etc on the basis of the notification circulated for the general masses before the commencement of new academic session every year. As per the revised fee structure for the Academic session 2025-26, the examination fee for class 11th and 12th of both Winter Zone and Summer Zone with 5 subjects is Rs 1435/- and with additional Subject(s) 5+ is Rs.1690/- respectively. There is no provision of charging an additional fee.
However, JKBOSE on 10-09-2025 issued notification number PS/JSE/Exams/HSP-I/II/Reg-WZ/2025 in which JKBOSE authorities have made a provision to charge extra external practical fee @ Rs.100/- per candidate per practical subject from the students who are going to appear in 11th and 12th class. “Thus, on an average a student who is going to appear in Annual Examination (Oct-Nov) 2025 has to pay Rs 200/ to 500/- extra in addition to its actual examination which is not justified,” said the members.
President of the association, Ajay Gupta alleged that JKBOSE is using the schools as scapegoat for collecting money from the innocent parents. “We have brought the matter into the notice of Director (Academics) JKBOSE and conveyed our resentment,” he said and appealed to Shantmanu, Addl Chief Secretary School Education Department and Chairman JKBOSE for immediate withdrawal of the additional external practical fee.
The members stressed that examination fee should be collected from the students in accordance to the notification at the beginning of the academic session on 04-04-25.
Members who attended meeting included Siddheshwar Sadotra (Chief organizer JKPSA), O P Chandail (District President Doda, Abdul Raouf Dar (District President Rajouri), Shakti Dubey, Pooja Mahajan, Chain Singh, Rakesh Gupta, R P Sharma, Vineet Gupta, Manoj Sharma, Ankush Gupta, Mohd Parvez and others.
