JAMMU, Jan 3: The members of Private Schools Association presented a memorandum to Commissioner Secretary School Education Department, Hirdesh Kumar Singh and apprised him of their various issues.
The Association members, led by Prof J L Kotwal and Kamal Gupta highlighted the problems being faced by the private schools in getting affiliation, recognition, up-gradation, result confirmation etc.
They suggested the Secretary to abolish middle standard board exams, conduct of HSP-I (11th) exam on 12th pattern, publication of academic calendar both for winter and summer zones before the commencement of academic session, permanent recognition to all those schools which have been functioning for the last 10 years, revision of fee from 15 percent to 20 percent annually, free hand to adopt books for 1st to 5th standard, check on unrecognized and all those schools which are accorded permission/ recognition up to 5th or 8th standard but holding illegal classes up to 10th or 12th standard and thus playing with the career of the students.
Hirdesh Kumar Singh gave patient hearing and assured all the stakeholders for the relevant solution.
During the interaction, Mr Singh along with Director and Joint Director School Education highlighted the contents of the School Education (Amendment) Act- 2013.
Ajay Gupta, secretary cum coordinator PSA Jammu, said that induction of representatives of Private Schools for the formation of Education Policy will yield good results.
The prominent among those, who comprised the deputation, included M M Joshi, I D Soni, O P Chandel, Sanjeev Luthra, Rameshwar Manhas, G S Katal, Ajay Dev Kotwal, D D Khajuria, Ashok Kumar, Vaneet Gupta, Siddeshwar Sadotra, Ram Parkash, Subash Kerni, Chain Singh, Gansara Singh, Laddi Sharma, Hari Dutt Shishu, Raj Kumar and Ganga Ram.
